Why upcycling?
At L’Atelier Hautbois, we’re deeply aware of the environmental impact of traditional furniture production. Each year, an estimated 15 billion trees are cut down, and in Europe alone, the creation of new furniture contributes over 12 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
As much as we love beautiful design, it quickly became clear: we had to do things differently.
Upcycling allows us to craft something new from something forgotten — to uncover beauty in the abandoned, and to give fresh life to pieces that still have so much to offer.
It also means working with high-quality, solid wood furniture — materials that were built to last and have already stood the test of time.
For you, this choice means more than sustainability. It’s the promise of a piece that is truly unique, rich in character, and tailored to both your needs and your aesthetic.
